CSC450 - Exam 1

There are ten (10) questions on this exam, each worth 10 points. You do not have to answer them in order. This exam will test your cryptanalysis skills on classical ciphers.

You may use your book, any tools you have created in class, as well as the tools listed below in the references, along with Wikipedia for research, but you must work individually. Cite and document every step of the way. I strongly recommend you write code to implement encryption and decryption of the various ciphers we discussed in class, this will make your life much easier.

Share a Google Doc with me detailing in order of your solving

the cipher used for each question
the content of each question
the key used for encryption
the type of attack you used to derive
any ancillary programming code that you write.

Update this document as you decrypt these ciphers.

Partial credit will be awarded for this exam. You may ask for a total of four hints. Each hint will be a deduction of 5 points from your exam score.
