CSCI 370 - Tools Presentation
Demonstration
You will be presenting to the rest of the class on a tool that can be used with Unity
to enhance your games. This presentation will be 12 minutes long, and should include
the following points.
- Discuss at least three use cases for the tool (how can you use it to help make games)
- Demonstrate how to use the tool to carry out one of these use cases
- Show a reference to where the tool can be obtained or used online
This will not be a presentation with slides, but a live demonstration
of the tool.
You should choose something interesting to demonstrate for your tool, yet small enough
that it can be accomplished in your time limit. After 12 minutes, your presentation
will be over.
You will be using your own laptops to present, so you can practice as much
as you want. As you learned with Pecha Kucha style talks, practice is
essential for a good presentation.
Your laptop must be able to project for our classroom, please test this
before class.
Mini Tutorial
You will need to also create a mini-tutorial for the rest of the class. This must be
a new task that your classmates can walk through themselves to get familiar with the
tool, and be separate from how you demonstrate the tool in your presentation. It can
involve all the same pieces, but it cannot just recreate exactly what you present.
You can write up this tutorial as an HTML web page, or as a Google document. Share the
link with me before your presentation, and I will share it with the rest of the class.
Lab Grade
Choose 4 tools presented by your classmates, and work through their tutorials. Set
up a time to demonstrate your knowledge of these tools to me and show me the results
of your work through their mini-tutorials.
